Connect Google Search Console

Google Search Console (GSC) is required to access the Coverage section inside Wranker’s Site Audit. This is the only Site Audit section that depends on a GSC connection.

Required for: Site Audit → CoverageConnect from: Coverage tab or Project Control Center

Summary

Connecting Google Search Console allows Wranker to display Coverage-related reporting inside the Site Audit module. You can connect GSC from:

  • Site Audit → Coverage tab (quickest when you are already auditing)
  • Project Control Center (PCC) → Integrations (best for managing integrations)
Why is GSC mandatory?

GSC is mandatory specifically to generate and view the Coverage report in Site Audit. Other Site Audit sections do not require GSC.

Prerequisites

  • You have a Wranker project created with a domain.
  • You have access to the domain’s Google Search Console property in Google.
Tip

Make sure you’re signed into the Google account that owns (or has permission for) the correct Search Console property for the project’s domain.

Where to find the connection options

Option A: From Site Audit (Coverage tab)

Go to Site Audit and open the Coverage tab. If GSC is not connected, Wranker should show a prompt to connect.

Option B: From Project Control Center (Integrations)

Open the Project Control Center (PCC), go to Integrations, and connect or manage Google Search Console for the project.

Option A: Connect from Site Audit → Coverage tab

  1. Open Site Audit for your project

Navigate to your project’s Site Audit area.

  2. Go to the Coverage tab

In Site Audit, open the Coverage tab.

    • Capture: Coverage tab showing the connect prompt (or empty state) when GSC is not connected.
    • Alt text: Site Audit Coverage tab showing a prompt to connect Google Search Console.
  3. Start the connection flow

Use the Connect GSC action shown in the Coverage area to begin connecting your Google Search Console account.

    What happens next

You may be asked to authenticate with Google and grant permission so Wranker can access Search Console data for the project’s property.

  4. Complete authorization and return to Wranker

Finish the Google authorization steps, then return to Wranker. Once connected, the Coverage report can populate in the Site Audit Coverage tab.

Option B: Connect or manage from Project Control Center (PCC) → Integrations

  1. Open Project Control Center (PCC)

From your project context, open the Project Control Center.

  2. Open Integrations

In PCC, go to Integrations to view connected tools and manage connections.

    • Capture: PCC Integrations screen showing Google Search Console connection status and actions.
    • Alt text: Project Control Center Integrations screen with Google Search Console connection controls.
  3. Connect Google Search Console

Choose the Google Search Console integration and follow the connection flow. After connecting, Coverage reporting becomes available inside Site Audit.

  4. Manage the integration (if needed)

Use PCC Integrations to manage the connection if you need to reconnect, change the connected account, or review integration status.

Expected result after connecting GSC

  • The project is connected to Google Search Console (for Coverage reporting).
  • The Coverage section in Site Audit can generate and display its report data.
  • GSC connection is visible and manageable inside Project Control Center → Integrations.

Troubleshooting

Coverage tab says GSC is required

Connect Google Search Console using either:

  • Site Audit → Coverage tab (connect prompt)
  • Project Control Center → Integrations

I connected GSC, but Coverage data is still not showing

  • Confirm the connected Google account has access to the correct property for your domain.
  • Re-check PCC → Integrations to ensure the connection shows as active/connected.
  • Refresh the Coverage tab after connecting.
